Video Expression has won and begun working a new piece of work for 2013 as main subcontractor for WebVM with a key role in delivering a video based marketing channel communications programme for an International Telecoms company. We’ll be covering main aspects from audience research, to corporate video production of interviews with key players and partners and advanced distribution of videos using the FLIMP platform.and teamwork with a top London brand agency for messaging and integration with the Marketo platform.
Video Expression have won a significant new 12 month contract to provide by regular video news and support development of related digital PR with a major UK healthcare software provider Plain Healthcare. The contract will commence this month building video marketing P.R. assets to help generate leads by providing news, case-studies and video demonstrations to quickly translate the value and illustrate real customer experience.
Plain Healthcare are leaders in Clinical Decision support and will be using the videos to sell both the the NHS and international customers. They will make use of every aspect of our services, from news and interviews using one of our professional hosts, to motion graphics and capture of demonstrations mixed with green screen production. Also we’ll be helping train and develop their use of social media campaigns to link videos, as well as trialling the use of the FLIMP marketing platform to track video marketing ROI.
Most of our customer only get to know what we do by virtue of their specific projects, so we thought we’d put an overview of the fast growing range of projects we’re undertaking and long term partnership being forged. We’re especially please to have brought on board three strategic channel partners:
- Farnborough based digital marketing agency Clever Marketing
- UK Exporters Limited with their directory membership of over 20,000 members
- and WebVM, a fellow video marketing company who’ve trusted us with sub-contract work with some of their most important City clients.
We’re also very excited about the partnerships being forged around Data Cabling Expert TV with NBM Distribution Limited, Cambridge On-Line Systems Limited , Netcomms Europe. But to see the full extent of our rapidly expanding portfolio of projects here’s a summary of some of the highlights of the last 90 days…
December: won first pilot contract for Clever Marketing Limited to test competing with a London green screen studio. This meant shooting 16 videos in one day and was an outstanding success.
January: We concluded a 3 month long project with GEMS Education creating an entire series of 20 training video.
We were also commissioned by Manchester based Video company, WebVM Limited, to produce a TV style interview of the CEO of RR Donnelly
February: We concluded a similar Lottery Funded video series for a parent training programme for a major UK charity, here’s what their CEO had to say… ” I’ve read the report and started watching the videos and wanted to say that it looks like a fantastic piece of work.”
Plus we successfully filmed The BIG Lottery’s CEO, Peter Wanless, via contract with WebVM Ltd.
Asked by an international educational institute to provide a video to support a major multi-million dollar bid that would tell the story of ‘a day in the life’ of one of their most advanced private schools and selling their core values. The sponsor wanted the 10 minute documentary scripted, filmed, edited and approved in just 7 days. We delivered to time and budget and sponsor and their Dubai based Chairman were delighted by the final result.
Chosen as strategic partner for video production of news and PR by UK Exporters Limited, for their new web channel ‘UK Export.TV’ and they are sponsoring free video production by us for all new customers.
Finished filming for ReEngergise.TV and expect to launch first campaigns by April.
& already this March:
Working on 3 more projects for Clever Marketing over the next two months.
London based Master Data Management consulting company Phusis Limited have completed their content workshop for a full video and social media campaign set to run throughout 2012.
Last, but definitely not least we’re getting underway next week with the first series of production for our new sponsor NBM Distribution Limited for Data-Cabling-Expert.TV. Plus lots of other projects in the pipeline as far a field as Switzerland, Canada and Dubai.

Video Expression Limited have been chosen by UK Exporters Limited to outsource all production of their new video news channel services. The service will start full production by Spring 2012. UK Exporters Limited will be sponsoring new and renewing customers video news and PR programmes for their directory and marketing services which now lists over 20,000 UK exporting companies.
The promotional launch has been kept ‘under wraps’ but is expected to be ‘imminent’.
Members will be able to orchestrate global video news and P.R. bulletins remotely and as an integrated part of UK Exporters Limited range of export marketing packages.

2011 was our inaugural year and as a start-up we’ve built up some amazing customer projects and references from which we’ll be creating videos case-studies and sharing with you.
Our first major achievement was to to create a cost effective Chromakey or Greenscreen format that we could use in a portable studio. Green screen allows us to create professional backdrops and special effects. In theory this is low cost, in practice it’s been way too expensive for most companies and they can spend £1,000 plus just hiring a studio. We must have produced over 100 green screen videos and have brought total production costs down to just a few hundred pounds with dozens of very satisfied clients. [See examples]
Secondly, early on we started doing on-location videos and took on board a highly ambitious project for GEMS International, a global education trust, which involved complete production, from scripting to final edit for a mission critical commercial investor video. The project involved editing 4 hours of footage into a powerful 25 minute long storyline to convince investors to spend millions on setting up prestigious pre-school educational institutions. Our client took the video to Dubai to be aired by key investors, the video did the trick and she came back walking on air. [Hear what Professor Pat Preedy has to say].
Thirdly, as the main contractor to Yoocast Limited which was a joint company set up this year with TVPP, we did the design, build, and launch of our most ambitious managed service project. This was Data Cabling Expert TV. Our client was ACCL Limited a well established cabling manufacturer. We had wanted 90 days to build and 90 days to pilot, but the client wanted the new channel up in 60 days and results to show in 30 days. We took the challenge on and the results speak for themselves:
- real leads and one piece of new business generated already worth £50,000;
- two new channel co-sponsors signed up.
Fourthly, having in the early days been snubbed by digital design agencies, we picked up our third and largest client, Clever Marketing Limited, formerly Taurus Solutions Limited. They gave us a pilot project with a short take off, with the aim of finding 6 top presenters for their interactive website service to help them remove the need to use expensive London video agencies. We ran this as a total outsource on a ‘no win, no fee basis’. We had just 2 weeks to find, film and edit, then deliver the final clips. We found them 9 presenters and delivered to time and budget and will be doing more work for them in early 2012.
Last Friday evening we had a call from the head of an International Education programme who needed a video made in just 7 days for a major presentation in Dubai to help win a bid for multi-million dollar contract. They needed an impressive, inspirational showcase telling the story of a day in the life of one of their schools, illustrating their most core values and unique programme. In just less than 7 days we achieved final review of a 9 minute long video, from storyboard to doing a full days shoot with two cameras and then turning around the review and selection of the best rushes, all edits and some advances graphic animation. Most important we delighted our client who felt we had really done justice to their vision of what they ideally needed to impress and win their bid.
So how did we meet this with ease and deliver right first time within a budget of less than £1,000 – when others charge twice this for similar projects and take 2-3 times as long? Here’s the secret…. it’s called ‘PARTNERSHIP’.
What we do that’s different is to train, trust and involve our clients. We have worked with this client over the last 9 months. So they now know how to create their own video storyboards (an immediate saving in time and money). Then we co-direct, this means that along with our own senior Camera Director they place their key sponsor to work out the shot list and timetable and work with us to co-manage the shoot. Then as we film we peer review the best shots, situations, look at areas that might be detrimental or opportunities to be creative and improvise. When it comes to editing we then sit down side by side and sort out the ‘B-roll’ together (this means sifting through the shots taken to shortlist the very scenes, agree style and other content, comparing what they like in other videos to really understand the style and substance they ideally want . Then we do the rest and within 48 hours we’re ready to do a review of the 1st draft – which in this case was the final draft. Then after a final quality check the video is complete!
Back in December we announced our first contract with Clever Marketing. The odds were tight, very tight, the brief from M.D. Brian Woodcock was to find 6 top class presenters and have them auditioned filmed and ready to select showreels in just 2 weeks. He wanted commitment to economy, fast results and so we gave him a ‘no win, no fee’ contract. The project was high risk but we’ve done this before and so we felt quietly confident and the results speak for themselves, instead of six presenters we found ‘NINE’ and then delivered the final edits so that Clever Marketing, could launch with a new star presenter to start the new year.
